A SQL/SSIS Developer at Siepe is expected to be proficient with SQL, SSIS, and Powershell. They understand, maintain, and troubleshoot existing scripts and packages, as well as design code for new applications that the team is building. They work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that their code meets the required objectives and accurately models the relationships it is meant to represent. They also work with internal teams to assess and resolve problems that users have encountered when interacting with the product. This often involves digging into problems independently and arriving at effective, sustainable solutions that they then present to senior members of the team to review and approve.

Responsibilities

• Work with developers, business analysts, and external teams to review business requirements and transform them into database objects
• Schedule, monitor and troubleshoot daily jobs and reports using Siepe’s job administration tools
• Design, develop, document, test and optimize SQL database objects following Siepe coding standards
• Develop new and enhance existing SSIS packages to load and normalize data from external sources 
• Utilize PowerShell to create scripts to orchestrate data load jobs: move, copy, and archive files; manipulate data files; convert from one format to another; initiate SSIS packages
• Work collaboratively in a growing organization 
• Contribute and maintain Siepe’s Knowledge Base and SQL coding standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of overall SQL experience with the ability to develop, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot queries
• Knowledge of T-SQL/Stored Procedure/View/Function programming and design
• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related field 
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

Preferences

• Early shift: 6AM – 3PM 
• Experience developing with ETL tools (SSIS preferred)
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell preferred)
• Capital Markets or Finance industry experience
